Jennifer Garner spent her ex-husband Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s wedding day on nice trip to Lake Tahoe, California. But rest assured, Page Six made clear in a new report last night that Garner knew Affleck and Lopez were getting married before the public did—and before the couple tied the knot in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
A “well-placed Hollywood’ source told the outlet that Garner got a heads up that the event was happening one day before it occurred. “Ben did tell Jen about the wedding, but I’m told that it was only Friday at the earliest. It was very, very minimally planned in advance and was largely spur-of-the-moment. [Affleck and Garner’s 16-year-old daughter] Violet stayed home because she’s extremely loyal to her mom.”
That source added that Lopez was eager to marry Affleck: “[Lopez] has been ready to get married since the night that Ben proposed. She wanted to lock this down and remove any chance for cold feet ASAP!” (Affleck and Lopez postponed the original wedding they planned to have 20 years ago a day before the ceremony and broke up shortly after until they reconciled last year.)
Despite being out of town, Garner is supportive of Affleck and Lopez’s relationship.
In April, a source detailed to E! how Garner felt about Affleck and Lopez getting engaged. “Ben told Jen and the kids, so they knew about it,” a source close to Garner said. “Jen is happy for Ben and knows that J.Lo has been a positive influence in certain ways.”
A source spoke to Entertainment Tonight in late March about how Garner felt about Affleck and Lopez’s relationship being on the verge of engagement. “Jen Garner and Ben get along well. She is understanding and supportive of Jen and Ben’s relationship,” the source said. “She knows Ben is doing well all around and at the end of the day, she just wants what’s best for the kids and for things to be seamless and unproblematic. She wants everyone to be happy and healthy and her kids are always the priority. Everyone is feeling good at this point and looking forward to the future.”
